Shawn Elizabeth Kawabe was a mother, wife, daughter, sister, and a friend to all. She was always known as a "light" and "angel on earth." She was passionate about film and television and pursued a career in post-production, even working on the Power Rangers show. She married her husband, Carl, in 2001, and they later had two daughters Caroline and Catherine in 2003 and 2005. Family was everything to Shawn. Whether it was brunch and movies with her mother Joanne and sister Leslie, waterskiing with her father Hugh, or beach days with Carl, Caroline, and Catherine, Shawn loved spending time with the people she loved.

Shawn's love was a love like no other. She cared for her family and friends to an incredible extent. She was kind to everyone she met and always had a smile on her face. Her outlook on life was ever uplifting and positive. Even when diagnosed with Glioblastoma in 2020, she remained optimistic and continued to spread joy everywhere she went.

Shawn enjoyed watching movies, spending time at the beach, playing tennis, walks with her various pets, and trips to Hawaii with her family. She always inspired her daughters to strive for the best. She played an active role in National Charity League serving as a member of the board, Girl Scouts as a troupe leader, and AYSO as Catherine's soccer coach. Shawn always supported her daughters in all their endeavors and believed in the power of women, kindness, and positivity.
